The Art of Block Printing: A Journey to Jaipur

Block printing is more than a technique; it's a rhythm. In the workshops of Jaipur, the steady 'thwack' of wooden blocks hitting fabric is the heartbeat of the community. This traditional craft is still quite common in India for a variety of textiles ranging from homeware to clothing.

The designs are first drawn on paper and then each block is carved by hand from teak wood, a process that takes days of meticulous work.
